The Pakistan Journal of Urology (PJU) follows a strict copyright and licensing policy to ensure that all published articles comply with intellectual property laws and facilitate the free exchange of knowledge and research.

The copyright of each article published in PJU remains with the author(s) unless otherwise stated. Authors retain the right to reuse, share, and adapt their work for any purpose, subject to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Licensing:
All articles published in PJU are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This open access license allows users to:

  • Share (copy, redistribute) the article in any medium or format for any purpose, including commercial use.

  • Adapt (remix, transform, build upon) the article, even for commercial purposes.

  • Users are required to give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and the source (Pakistan Journal of Urology), provide a link to the license, and indicate any changes made to the original work.

3. Author Responsibilities:
By submitting articles to PJU, authors warrant that their work is original, has not been previously published, and does not infringe upon any third-party rights. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all necessary permissions for any copyrighted material included in the article (such as images or data) have been obtained.

4. Third-Party Content:
If an article contains third-party content, it is the author's responsibility to ensure proper licenses and permissions are obtained for its use and distribution. Any third-party content included in the article will be credited appropriately.

Users of PJU articles are permitted to:

6. Commercial Use:
The license allows for commercial use of the published articles. This includes activities such as republishing, distribution, or any form of adaptation for profit, provided that proper attribution to the original authors and the journal is maintained.

7. Withdrawal of Articles:
In the event of retraction or withdrawal of an article, the author and the journal will notify the public, and the article will be removed from public access. However, copies of the article distributed prior to withdrawal will still remain available under the terms of the license.
